HomeMaker's Salary TM is a designed to show that whether or not you have to pay annually on your taxes or not, you're still earning a "salary" by the contributions you make to your home and family.
There's that old saying that goes nothing is certain but death and taxes. I like better Margarat Mitchell's spin on the phrase; Death, taxes, and childbirth! There is never a convenient time for any of them. Going off of Mitchell's quote, the first and the last are things of nature. Birth and death are how our world stays in the balance. But where in the world did taxes come from? While I've attended many a seminar where speakers make the argument that there is no official Constitutial law which states that we must pay our taxes, there is a very real fear that pricks the heart at least once a year... if not before, then definitely by April 15th! We report on our income earned from a full or part-time job. We include any interest we may have earned from a certificate of deposit (CD) account or perhaps a mutual fund. And of course, on the honor system, we report whatever we may have earned as "cash". But besides all this, there is one person's salary which gets to, once and for all, CHEAT the system! The Homemaker's Salary!
